Arup's Seattle office is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design
building mechanical (HVAC) systems. The position will report to senior project
engineers and the mechanical engineering department leader.
Your responsibilities will involve:
• Design of building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic system components
• Writing of project reports and specifications
• Coordinating work with clients and other consultants as well as in-house staff from other disciplines
• Engaging with contractors for construction support activity
• Documentation of systems design in Revit MEP
• Engineering analysis work, including load calculations and equipment sizing
• Engineering analysis and energy modeling including whole building energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modeling.
• Take responsibility for sections of work which may include some supervision of other staff.
• Design of building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic system components

Qualified professionals will have:
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Architectural engineering with a sound knowledge of mechanical (HVAC) engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in commercial, education, laboratory and healthcare experience preferred
• 2-5 years relevant experience
• EIT/FE required, Washington PE desirable
• LEED Accreditation is preferred
• Revit MEP experience highly desired
• eQuest, Trane Trace, and IES-VE experience preferred, EnergyPlus knowledge a bonus
• Excellent communication skills essential for team-based working and working with non-engineering clients
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
