Dr. Nelson is a Presidential Professor of City & Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah and has over thirty years of experience in growth management, urban containment, public facility finance, economic development and metropolitan development patterns. Standard 90.1 Featured in ASHRAE Fall Educational Courses

ATLANTA – Two new courses related to Standard 90.1 are part of the 12 online professional development courses being offered this fall by ASHRAE through the ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI). ALI courses provide professional development through in-depth information that is timely, practical and advanced beyond a fundamental level. The online courses allow attendees to log in to learn from anywhere with an Internet connection. Course participants earn three professional development hours, .3 continuing education units, or three American Institute of Architects learning units for each seminar completed. Courses are instructor-led, drawing upon professional knowledge of leading practitioners.

Energy Efficiency Webinar

NEEC is co-sponsoring with other regional energy efficiency industry associations, a free webinar on the current status of the energy and climate legislation, the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES). The California Energy Efficiency Industry Council is the prime sponsor. The webinar is Thursday, September 3rd from 11am to 12 noon PDT.

This webinar will provide background on the federal American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES) of 2009, the Waxman-Markey comprehensive energy bill, known as "ACES". ACES includes a cap-and-trade global warming reduction plan designed to reduce economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions 17 percent by 2020. Other provisions include energy efficiency incentives, new renewable energy requirements for utilities, and grants for green jobs.
