Energy Efficient Schools - the Grants and Results
Seats are still available
for our January meeting featuring Nancy Johns, Coordinator High
Performance Schools and Energy Grants from the Office of the
Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). We'll be taking a look at
the relationship between high-performance design and construction and
energy efficiency grant work, plus on-going performance tracking and the
first-year performance results achieved.
OSPI has received over
$126 million dollars from the State capital budget to fund energy
efficiency improvements in Washington's K-12 schools. Project
applications are competitively awarded based on prior award, leverage
ratio, simple payback and persistence. Johns will discuss the types of
programs available, application and outcome performance requirements, and
the tools and techniques being used.
