This Thursday January 10th,  7:30-9 am Energy Efficient Schools - the Grants and Results Seats are still available for our January meeting featuring Nancy Johns, Coordinator High Performance Schools and Energy Grants from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). We'll be taking a look at the relationship between high-performance design and construction and energy efficiency grant work, plus on-going performance tracking and the first-year performance results achieved. OSPI has received over $126 million dollars from the State capital budget to fund energy efficiency improvements in Washington's K-12 schools. Project applications are competitively awarded based on prior award, leverage ratio, simple payback and persistence. Johns will discuss the types of programs available, application and outcome performance requirements, and the tools and techniques being used. It's 2013! Prepare for the New Energy Future
AIA Seattle presents its fifth year
of AIA + 2030 Professional Series™ February 8 – November 8

Seattle—The Pacific Northwest is a leader in fighting climate change on a variety of fronts and our design and building community is no different. With proper tools and training, the architecture, engineering, and construction community can lead the way in making a difference in reducing greenhouse gas emissions cause by the built environment.

To impact the threat of climate change, Architecture 2030®, a non-partisan, national non-profit started by renowned architect Ed Mazria, has issued the 2030 Challenge® asking the global architecture and building community to reach the goal of carbon-neutral buildings by 2030.

AIA Seattle, a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is taking tangible steps toward reaching the goal of carbon-neutral buildings by 2030. One of those steps is producing the AIA+2030 Professional Series™, a 10-part series of intermediate-level professional development courses designed to provide specific ways to make our built environment energy-efficient. Architects engineers, construction professionals, facilities managers, policymakers are invited to register. The fifth season of the AIA+2030 Professional Education Series™ is produced by
AIA Seattle in partnership with the City of Seattle, Architecture 2030^Ò and BetterBricks.

JOB SUMMARY

Provide complex Engineering support to grow and maintain Mechanical Infrastructure of Sea-Tac International Airport.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; seven (7) to ten (10) years progressive experience in consulting for mechanical building design for industrial and/or commercial applications or a facilities (plant) engineer in an industrial and/or heavy commercial facility; experience in design, spreadsheet, and database  software.  Mechanical Professional Engineer licensed in Washington State.
